Governance

The Greater Baton Rouge Port Commission was created by Act # 9 of the Louisiana Legislature in 1952. The port commission is a political subdivision of the State of Louisiana. The port governance is a 17-member commission appointed and serving at the pleasure of the Governor of the State of Louisiana. The port commission’s responsibility is to establish policy and provide oversight for the port’s development. Port commissioners are selected from the parishes served by the port.
